Everyone. What. Is. Poppin.
Lemme tell you the first thing that is poppin over here in Ukraine! Our tires. Yeah that's right. Elder Mason needed to go to Kharkiv to get a flu shot, so we drove three hours there, and then on the way back we found out both our driver's back right wheel and spare were flat. We couldn't find a repair shop, so for an hour and a half we tried driving home on a flat, stopping ever few miles to get out and fill up the wheel with air a little more each time haha. Luckily, half way through the trip we found an open tire repair in the middle of nowhere. #blessup
What else be poppin?? Our feet out from under us!! There is black ice EVERYWHERE. I don't think I've ever feared losing my life as much as I have this last week (jokes). Literally, every step is a risk lol. Especially at night, while in attempts to avoid black ice, you end up stepping in fat puddles. The worst part is that every time I'm about to eat it, my companion steps a mile away from me!! Where's the loyalty and brotherhood?! 😂. Luckily, the streets are getting better now though, and we're walking pretty confidently.
Now, let me tell you the biggest thing that's poppin... MISSIONARY Work. AYOOO. We just killed it this week!! We were calling people, meeting them, preaching the word y'all!! We have found HUGE potential in a few people this week. We got awesome lessons going on with members as well. We got investigators on church service (I love when our friend Konstantin joins church, cuz the guy is always just pimping out in his suit and all). We're looking out for the lesser active members. It's POPPIN and we're keeping busy. I love the feeling.
Gennady is also poppin. As you know, he is planning to be baptized in March, once it gets warmer. This week, we went over to his place to check up on how he was doing, and what do you know?! He's got out the fruit tea we bought him, and he was loving it! None of that green and black tea! That man had the biggest grin on his face. Love him. We had a lesson on eternal families and showed each other pictures of each of our loved ones. Gennady just looks legendary in all his old pictures. He's an animal and a half, I love it. Also, his cat literally won't stay off of me, no matter how many times I tossed him off my lap.
There is one youth in the branch that we are really trying to connect with more. He unfortunately hasn't been baptized yet, due to some family issues, but he totally wants to. Anyways, we invited him to come and be with us as we blessed the Sacrament for another member next week, and then help us share a spiritual thought. He absolutely LIT Up. He was ECSTATIC!! I was lowkey shook. I thought he would just kinda be like, "okayyyyy." but no!! My boy was all over that!! We look so forward to doing that with him next week, and are going to call him mid week to prepare the thought together. He's legittttt.
There were so many successes this week that we were blessed with because of our efforts, but imma close it there.
I wish a Merry Christmas to you all! Keep it real, preach the word, share y'alls light, and keep things poppin.
Much love,
Elder Wilde
